Asian Development Bank Launches Five-Year Special Economic Plan for Pakistan

Islamabad: In a major boost for Pakistan’s economy, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has unveiled a five-year special economic plan for the country, covering the period 2026–2030.
According to reports, the new country strategy emphasizes private-sector-led economic growth and is designed to promote sustainable and inclusive development. The strategy paper sets targets to increase employment, investment, and exports, while prioritizing women’s economic participation and social development.
The plan also includes measures to address climate change and strengthen resilience against natural disasters. Key sectors targeted for increased investment under the strategy include energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
The ADB reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan to help the country achieve stable and long-term economic growth.
