ECNEC Approves Construction of Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Center in Islamabad

Quetta/Islamabad:A key meeting of the **Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC)** was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of **Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar**. The meeting focused on reviewing and approving the proposed **Jinnah Medical Complex & Research Center Islamabad**.

**Balochistan’s ECNEC member and Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani**, participated in the meeting via video link. During his address, Umrani emphasized that **public welfare projects**, especially those related to **healthcare infrastructure**, are vital to ensuring that people have access to quality treatment and medical facilities within their own regions.

He further stated that the **provision of health, education, and basic amenities** is a central part of the **Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)** manifesto. He conveyed that **PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari** has issued clear directives to prioritize the approval and implementation of projects that serve the public interest.

Speaking on the importance of timely completion, Umrani noted that finishing such projects within the stipulated timeframe not only benefits the public but also eases the process of acquiring additional funding when needed.

The participants were briefed on the details of the proposed **Jinnah Medical Complex**, which is set to be a **1,000-bed hospital** featuring **acute care, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics**. The meeting also discussed the **total estimated cost**, **project duration**, and **other technical and administrative aspects** of the project.

After thorough deliberation, ECNEC **approved the construction of the Jinnah Medical Complex**, recognizing its **importance, necessity, and potential impact** on healthcare delivery in the region.
