Sindh Government to Recruit 2,000 ASI Investigation Officers to Strengthen Police Capability

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a major step to enhance the investigative capacity of its police force by deciding to recruit 2,000 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) for the Investigation Wing.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah. The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional Chief Secretary for Home Affairs, Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Services, and other senior officials.
Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah emphasized that improving the police’s investigative abilities is key to boosting public trust and ensuring timely justice. He stated that the recruitment drive would play a crucial role in modernizing the investigation system and significantly reducing crime rates across the province.
He also directed the Secretary Services to remove all obstacles in the recruitment process to ensure smooth and timely hiring.
Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon added that the inclusion of dedicated ASI Investigation officers will lead to better-quality investigations, thereby enabling the police to apprehend criminals more effectively and deliver justice efficiently.
