Lahore Police Confirms Arrest of Aleema Khan’s Son, Shah Rees, in May 9 Cases

Lahore:Lahore Police have confirmed the **arrest of Shah Rees**, son of **Aleema Khan**, who is the sister of former Prime Minister and PTI founder **Imran Khan**. According to **DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza**, Shah Rees was **wanted in cases related to the May 9 riots**, and has now been taken into custody.

DIG Raza stated that Shah Rees was **actively sought in connection with state-hostile activities**, and that individuals involved in such incidents **do not deserve leniency**. He added that the accused will be **produced before the court on Friday morning**.

The confirmation came hours after **Aleema Khan alleged** that her son had been **abducted** from their home by **four armed, masked men** dressed in plain clothes. According to her, the men **entered the house through the kitchen** while Shah Rees was on the upper floor with his wife and father. She further claimed that the intruders **harassed the family staff** and **forcefully took her son** without presenting any legal documents.

A **PTI spokesperson** also echoed the abduction claims, stating that **Shah Rees was forcibly taken from his bedroom**, in front of his two children, and was **subjected to physical violence**.

In a conflicting statement, **Prime Minister’s political advisor Rana Sanaullah**, during an appearance on Geo News program *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath*, stated that the **Lahore Police Chief had denied** any such arrest earlier in the day.

The contradictory narratives have sparked **fresh controversy** over the handling of May 9 related arrests and the **alleged misuse of state authority**. Legal and human rights observers are likely to scrutinize the case closely as more details emerge in court.
