Election Commission Suspends By-Election Schedule for Jamshed Dasti’s Vacant Seat

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the by-election schedule for the National Assembly seat left vacant by the disqualification of Jamshed Dasti.

Jamshed Dasti was recently disqualified by the ECP after his academic degrees were declared fake. Following his disqualification, his NA-175 (Muzaffargarh) seat was declared vacant, and a by-election schedule was announced.

However, the ECP has now put the election process on hold in response to a decision by the Lahore High Court. The Commission stated that the election program for NA-175 will remain suspended until further orders from the court.

This development has temporarily halted the electoral process in the constituency, pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
