Two Killed, Three Injured in Firing Incident in Karachi’s Pehlwan Goth

KARACHI – A tragic shooting incident occurred in the Pehlwan Goth area of Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, where unidentified assailants opened fire near a local shop, leaving two people dead and three others injured.
According to police, the gunmen arrived on both a car and motorcycles and indiscriminately fired at individuals outside the shop. The victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where two of the injured, identified as Syed Mazhar and Ali Waris, succumbed to their wounds. The injured have been named as Ali Hassan, Muhammad Ali, and Habib.
Initial investigations reveal that multiple firearms were used in the attack. Law enforcement officials recovered a magazine and several bullet casings from the crime scene. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and police are currently investigating the incident from various angles.
Following the incident, residents of the area staged a protest in Pehlwan Goth, demanding justice and greater security. The protest was later called off, and normal traffic flow resumed. Both police and Rangers were deployed to the scene to maintain order and collect evidence.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and directed SSP East to submit a detailed report. He has also instructed authorities to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.
