Lahore Tops List of World’s Most Polluted Cities as Smog Intensifies Across Punjab

Lahore:The intensity of **air pollution** remained high across Punjab on Saturday morning, with **Lahore once again ranking as the most polluted city in the world.**
According to the latest data, Lahore’s **Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 420**, indicating **hazardous** levels of pollution. Several other cities in Punjab also recorded **unsafe air quality** levels.
In **Faisalabad**, the particulate matter (PM) concentration was recorded at **622**, in **Multan** at **485**, and in **Bahawalpur** at **255**, all falling under the “unhealthy” to “hazardous” categories.

Health experts have urged citizens to **wear masks, limit outdoor activities**, and follow precautionary measures to protect themselves from the harmful effects of smog.
According to **IQAir**, a global air quality monitoring organization, **New Delhi** ranked second among the world’s most polluted cities, followed by **Dhaka** in third and **Kolkata** in fourth place. **Karachi** stood at **fifth position** with an AQI of **165**, categorized as **unhealthy**.
