Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court Orders Arrest of Ali Amin Gandapur, Maintains His Fugitive Status

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has upheld the fugitive status of PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur and refused to cancel his arrest warrants in connection with a case related to protests over the disqualification of PTI’s founding chairman. The court’s judge, Tahir Abbas Supra, directed Islamabad police to arrest Gandapur, but instructed that if there are any orders from the Peshawar High Court, they should also be followed.
The case, which involves other PTI leaders as well, was filed at the Industrial Area Police Station. The accused are alleged to have participated in protests in Islamabad after the disqualification of PTI’s founder. During the proceedings, other accused PTI leaders, including Faisal Javed Khan, appeared in court. The hearing was adjourned upon the request of the defense lawyers, and the next hearing has been scheduled for August 6. The court reiterated that the arrest orders for Ali Amin Gandapur would remain in effect until his appearance in court. It further instructed the police to take legal action as per the law.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Islamabad ATC issued arrest warrants for PTI leader Ali Afzal Sahi, an MNA from Faisalabad, in connection with a case involving a March 18 protest. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra remarked that Sahi had failed to appear before the court. The court also issued arrest warrants for other absent PTI workers in the case registered at Golehra Police Station and adjourned the hearing until August 9.
