K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi Penalized: Removed from Position, Fined Rs 2.5 Million

*KARACHI:* K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi has been penalized following a verdict by the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh, ordering his removal from office and imposing a fine of Rs 2.5 million.
According to *Express News*, the decision was made after allegations of harassment and mental distress, filed by former Chief Marketing Officer, Meherin Zehra, were found to be proven. The Provincial Ombudsman, Justice (Retd.) Shah Nawaz Tariq, heard the case and issued the ruling.
Moonis Alvi has been directed to pay the fine within one month. Failure to do so may result in the seizure of his movable and immovable assets, as well as the blocking of his national identity card and passport.
Meherin Zehra stated in her complaint that she was hired by K-Electric as a consultant in 2019 and later faced harassment and mental torment at the hands of the CEO. The Provincial Ombudsman concluded that the allegations were substantiated and issued strict directives as a result.
