CM Balochistan Chairs Key Meeting on Roads & Infrastructure; Warns of Action Against Delays and Corruption

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, chaired a high-level review meeting of the Communication and Works Department, where he was briefed on several major infrastructure projects, including Hanna Road and the Sibi to Thalli-Kohlu Road.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that both these critical road projects are expected to be completed within the current year. It was also revealed that PKR 27 billion has been allocated in the current fiscal year for the development of 27 major road projects across the province.
The Secretary of Communications reported that 56 construction firms have been blacklisted due to substandard work and project delays.
CM Bugti directed that all development projects must be completed on time and up to the highest standards. He firmly stated that the culture of advance payments and financial revisions will be abolished. “Any officer found authorizing advance payments will face strict action,” he warned, adding that such officers should be prepared for suspension or termination.
He emphasized that while the timely provision of funds is the government’s responsibility, the completion of projects rests with the concerned departments.
Expressing serious displeasure over the delay in the Zamri Road project, the Chief Minister issued a 20-day deadline for the commencement of work, failing which strict action will be taken against the responsible officials.
