Walking Found to Be an Effective Remedy for Lower Back Pain: Australian Study

Australia: Researchers studying back pain have discovered that increased walking can significantly reduce lower back pain, offering a simple and accessible treatment option.
According to international media, a research team from Macquarie University in Australia conducted several clinical trials which revealed that individuals who walked more experienced recovery from back pain twice as fast as those using other treatments.
Lower back pain affects around 800 million people globally, often limiting their ability to live life fully. While exercise and awareness are commonly recommended, many available programs are either expensive, complex, or require close supervision—making them inaccessible to large portions of the population.
Professor Mark Hancock of Macquarie University, who has published work in the field of physiotherapy, emphasized that walking offers a remarkable improvement in both the prevention and treatment of lower back pain.
This simple intervention could provide a practical solution for millions suffering from chronic back pain worldwide.
