“Imran Khan and PTI Have No Option But to Apologize for May 9 Incidents” — Muneeb Farooq

Islamabad: Renowned journalist and analyst Muneeb Farooq has stated that in the wake of the May 9 incidents, Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have no choice left but to accept responsibility and offer an unconditional apology.
In his latest analysis, Farooq emphasized that when the state expresses its anger, logic and legal arguments often become powerless. He noted that the same reality is now confronting PTI leadership.
Farooq remarked that the state’s stance against those involved in the May 9 attacks is firm, and what occurred on that day was not just a political protest but a direct challenge to the state’s authority.
He warned that if the PTI leadership fails to take responsibility and seek forgiveness in time, the party’s political credibility will suffer severely, and legal challenges will only grow more complex.
Muneeb Farooq concluded by saying that such decisive moments rarely occur in Pakistani politics when state institutions send a clear message — and in such times, stubbornness or political maneuvering could lead to further damage.
