Tribal Leaders Condemn Raid on Sardar Sherbaz Khan Satakzai’s House, Term It Violation of Privacy

Quetta:Prominent tribal leaders including Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Sardar Kamal Khan Bangulzai, Sardar Muhammad Azim Jan Muhammad Shahi, Sardar Asim Jan Sarparah, and Sardarzada Mir Javed Aziz Lehri strongly condemned the police raid on the residence of Sardar Sherbaz Khan Satakzai. In a joint statement, they termed the act as a clear violation of the sanctity of “chadar and char diwari” (privacy and home).
They expressed serious concern over the arrest of Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, the head of his tribe, along with his family members, following a police raid on his house. The leaders said that using a recent incident in Degari as justification for raiding a tribal elder’s home is unacceptable and will only lead to unrest.
The statement further said that if the police needed to make arrests in connection with the Degari incident, they should apprehend individuals from both sides who are directly involved, rather than targeting the tribal chief and his household.
They warned that such actions by the police and local administration are unjustified and provocative. The tribal leaders also announced that the Sardars of Sarawan will soon hold a meeting to decide the future course of action against this alleged unlawful raid and arrest.
