Attempt to Damage Railway Track in Lower Karez Area of Quetta Foiled, Police Arrest One Suspect; Stolen Goods Recovered, FIR Registered
Quetta (Qudrat Daily): In the Lower Karez area of Quetta, police foiled an attempt to damage the railway track and arrested one suspect from the scene. Goods removed from the railway track were also recovered from the suspect’s possession. A case of the incident has been registered and investigation has begun.
Adviser to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind said that on Monday evening, staff deployed for the maintenance of the railway track at Lower Karez were patrolling as usual when, during the patrol, they observed an unusual situation on some parts of the railway track. He said that the railway staff immediately informed the relevant authorities, upon which action was taken and one suspect, Zahir Ahmed son of Mola Bakhsh, was arrested from the scene. Nuts, clips, and other removed material from the railway track were also recovered from the suspect’s possession.
According to Shahid Rind, during the initial inspection, nuts and clips were found loosened at various points on the railway track, which revealed an attempt to damage the track. After the incident, a detailed inspection of the railway track was also conducted to ensure the movement of trains and the safety of passengers.
He said that a case of the incident has been registered at Police Station Satellite Town Quetta under FIR No. 183/2026, while further investigation of the arrested suspect is ongoing. Police are also examining the involvement of any other person in the incident and the motives behind it.
Adviser to the Chief Minister Shahid Rind said that any attempt to damage the railway track and other national installations will not be allowed to succeed. He said that relevant agencies are alert for the protection of the lives and property of the people and the security of important national installations, and action in accordance with the law against elements involved in the incident will be ensured.
