Pakistani Actor Syed Noor Claims Hit Drama Mere Paas Tum Ho Was Copied from His 1998 Film ‘Zewar’

Lahore: Veteran Pakistani actor and filmmaker Syed Noor has made a startling revelation, claiming that the highly acclaimed drama Mere Paas Tum Ho, starring Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan, was copied from one of his earlier films.
In a recent podcast interview, Syed Noor stated that the storyline of the blockbuster drama closely mirrors the plot of his 1998 film Zewar. According to him, both stories revolve around a woman who, driven by greed for wealth and jewelry, leaves her loyal husband only to face betrayal in the end.
Syed Noor revealed that Zewar featured a prominent cast including Reema Khan, Babar Ali, Jan Rambo, Sahiba, and Shahid. He served as both the writer and director of the film, which was released in 1998.
He alleged that the story of Mere Paas Tum Ho, written by renowned screenwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, was heavily inspired by his film. The drama, which aired in 2019, gained massive popularity not just in Pakistan but also internationally.
The claim has sparked renewed debate about originality and inspiration in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
