Sunita Marshall Criticizes Men for Disrespectful Behavior Toward Wives
Pakistani actress and model Sunita Marshall has spoken out about what she describes as inappropriate behavior by men toward their wives, particularly in social settings.
During a recent appearance on a morning show, Sunita Marshall said that nearly 98 percent of men make fun of their wives when sitting with friends. She described this as more common in South Asian or “desi” culture, adding that such behavior is not as prevalent in Western societies.
The actress explained that if a wife offers advice in front of others, some husbands immediately respond by insulting or dismissing her instead of addressing the matter respectfully. According to Sunita, a husband could discuss the issue privately and explain calmly if he believes his wife’s advice was incorrect.
Sunita Marshall further said that, in Pakistani society, men are often raised with the mindset that wives are somehow inferior to their husbands. She pointed out that wives commonly address their husbands respectfully, while some husbands use informal language with their wives because they consider them younger or inferior.
She added that this mindset can lead some husbands to believe they have the right to make fun of their wives.
