“Party Workers Lost, the Glimmer of Money Won”: Azma Bukhari’s Fierce Attack on PTI over Senate Tickets

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bidding War for Senate Seats Within the Party

Lahore: Senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Azma Bukhari, has leveled serious allegations against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding the alleged buying and selling of Senate tickets. She claimed that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bidding wars for Senate seats are taking place within the party, where genuine workers have been sidelined in favor of “ATMs” (wealthy individuals).
Bukhari asserted that the party workers have lost out while the allure of money has triumphed, and all of this is happening right under the nose of PTI’s leadership. According to her, PTI’s own leaders and workers are now exposing the truth, with the real story coming to light.
She further alleged that the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, is an equal participant in this “horse trading” and is fully aware of the buying and selling of Senate tickets. Bukhari emphasized that PTI, which once strongly opposed horse trading, has now become its biggest supporter.
While criticizing PTI, Azma Bukhari pointed out that the party leadership had placed “seasonal birds” at the forefront to enjoy the power, while the loyal and sacrificing workers were only kept around to face hardship. She expressed heartfelt sympathy for the ideological workers of PTI.
Bukhari also highlighted the growing unpopularity of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where even the youth are realizing that they were merely used for protests and sit-ins. Her comments come at a time when political maneuvering and internal party conflicts are at their peak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of the Senate elections.
