Sindh Governor Urges Free Distribution of Ajrak-Themed Number Plates as a Cultural Gift

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has urged the provincial government to distribute Ajrak-themed vehicle number plates free of cost, proposing they be given as a cultural gift to the public.
During a conversation with a journalist regarding the Ajrak design number plates, Governor Tessori emphasized that the Ajrak symbolizes Sindh’s heritage, culture, and pride, and is traditionally given as a token of respect and honor.
According to a spokesperson from the Governor House, the journalist pointed out the difficulties citizens are facing due to not having the Ajrak number plates installed. In response, the Governor suggested that the plates should be issued for the first time as a gift, without any charges, in line with Sindh’s cultural traditions.
Governor Tessori also recommended that the Sindh government review taxes and other related charges for public convenience.
