KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Launches Registration for ‘Rehayi Tehreek’

Peshawar: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, announced the launch of the registration process for the “Rehayi Tehreek” (Release Movement) starting today.

Addressing a ceremony in Peshawar, Afridi stated that all constitutional and legal avenues have been pursued, emphasizing, “I am the elected Chief Minister of over 45 million people.” He highlighted that he is currently the only Chief Minister elected through votes, yet his meetings with party leadership are being obstructed.

Afridi criticized the restrictions placed on his movement, saying, “When the passport of an elected Chief Minister is blocked and paths are closed, what options remain? Even the doors of Adiala Jail are not opened for a Chief Minister.”

He also criticized national media, stating that the media only shows him performing menial tasks, ignoring the real issues his administration faces. Afridi stressed that with thieves and criminals being imposed on them, protest politics is the only recourse.

He added, “We have no room for error and will pursue every legal path. This is not about elections or constituencies; it is about the life and health of our leader. Registration for the Rehayi Tehreek begins today.”

Afridi further announced that membership drives will be conducted nationwide, with all members taking oaths at their local centers, and warned that the Establishment Department has been removed from KP.
