Maid Involved in Multi-Million Theft in Karachi Also Owns Property in Punjab

Karachi: A domestic worker accused of stealing five crore rupees in Karachi has been found to own property in Punjab, according to the prosecution. The accused, identified as Shehnaz, provided details of her extensive assets, including three flats, one shop, four cars, and four motorcycles. She also disclosed that she had purchased property in Punjab using the stolen money.
The case, involving Shehnaz and her son Asif, was heard in the court of Judicial Magistrate South. The court has reserved its decision regarding Shehnaz’s bail, with the hearing set for Friday. Meanwhile, Shehnaz’s co-accused, Fahad, was granted bail in the amount of one lakh rupees.
According to the prosecution, Shehnaz confessed to possessing around 45 lakh rupees in cash, which was part of the stolen money. In addition, five lakh seventy-five thousand rupees were recovered from her possession, while 33.4 lakh rupees were traced in her bank accounts.
However, two cars and three motorcycles purchased with the stolen money have yet to be recovered. The prosecution further revealed that Shehnaz had also used part of the stolen funds to acquire property in Punjab, where relatives and domestic workers are reportedly residing.
This case has raised serious questions regarding the scale of the theft and Shehnaz’s extensive property holdings, both in Karachi and Punjab.
