Election Commission Restores Reserved Seats for Political Parties in National and Provincial Assemblies

Islamabad: Following the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision regarding the reserved seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies, the details of the seats reinstated for each political party have been revealed.
As per the ECP’s ruling, the reserved seats in the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa include two seats for the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) [PML-N], two for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and one for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F). Additionally, one seat each has been restored for PML-N, JUI-F, and PPP in the National Assembly.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly, JUI-F has had eight reserved seats restored, PML-N six, PPP six, and one seat for the Awami National Party (ANP). Furthermore, two non-Muslim reserved seats for JUI-F and one each for PML-N and PPP have been reinstated in the KP Provincial Assembly.
The overall breakdown of seats restored across all assemblies shows that PML-N regained 43 seats, PPP 14, JUI-F 12, and other parties like IPP, PML-Q, ANP, MQM, and PTI have one seat each reinstated.
In the Punjab Assembly, 21 reserved seats for PML-N have been restored, along with one seat each for PPP, the Stability Pakistan Party, and the Pakistan Muslim League (PML). Additionally, two non-Muslim reserved seats for PML-N and one for PPP have been reinstated.
In the Sindh Assembly, one reserved seat each for PPP and MQM Pakistan has been restored, along with one non-Muslim reserved seat for PPP.
The Election Commission’s decision to restore these seats is in compliance with the Supreme Court’s verdict.
