Heavy Rainfall Expected Across Punjab, Including Lahore, for the Next Five Days

Lahore: The Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall across Punjab, including Lahore, for the next five days due to the re-entry of a pre-monsoon rain system. This system will bring both light and heavy showers, accompanied by gusty winds.
According to weather experts, the pre-monsoon system has entered the region once again, resulting in intermittent showers ranging from light to heavy, with the likelihood of thunderstorms and strong winds. Lahore is expected to experience high humidity along with rainfall today, with temperatures ranging between a minimum of 26°C and a maximum of 32°C, making the weather humid and uncomfortable.
The department further indicated that the rain and wind conditions will persist for the next 4 to 5 days. Meanwhile, concerns are rising about the ongoing development projects in the city, particularly those under the Lahore Development Program and the Metropolitan Corporation, which were initially set to be completed by June 30. However, the Lahore Waste Management Company (WASA) has now extended the completion deadline to July 31.
Citizens have expressed concerns, fearing that incomplete development work could lead to waterlogging on the roads during the monsoon rains, causing severe difficulties. In response to these concerns, MD WASA stated that operational staff has been deployed in the field to ensure the timely drainage of rainwater and to effectively handle any emergency situations that may arise.
