Major Robbery in Karachi Involves Popular TikTok Siblings as Culprits

Karachi:A significant robbery case has made headlines in Karachi’s PECHS Block 2 area, where thieves posing as officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stole over 130 million rupees, mobile phones, luxury watches, perfumes, laptops, and other valuables from the home of a luxury car showroom owner. Shockingly, the culprits have been identified as a well-known TikTok sibling duo.

The incident occurred on the night of June 25-26 when the victim, Mohammad Salik Khalid, returned home and was parking his car. According to police reports, a black car pulled up near his house, and five individuals—two armed men and three women wearing burqas—forced their way into the house. One of the male assailants was dressed in a uniform resembling that of the FIA, complete with a logo, which allowed the thieves to deceive the victim.

Once inside, the robbers used weapons to threaten the victim and looted a staggering 130 million rupees in cash, nine high-end mobile phones, including iPhones and Google Pixels, 20 luxury watches, a smartwatch, 25 perfumes, two laptops, and other expensive items before fleeing the scene.

Police managed to track down the culprits using advanced technology, including CCTV footage. Three suspects—Ysra, Namra, and their brother, Sharyar—were arrested in connection with the crime. A fourth suspect, Shahrroz, is still at large.

Ysra Zeeb, one of the female suspects, has previously been involved in modeling for various Pakistani brands and is a famous TikTok influencer. Her social media accounts are filled with pictures of her with celebrities, both from Pakistan and abroad. Investigations are ongoing into whether the suspect has been involved in other criminal activities.

The robbery has raised significant concerns over the misuse of social media platforms like TikTok, which some individuals appear to use as a platform for illicit activities. Police continue their investigation, and raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.

The incident was initially reported at the Ferozabad police station, with a case registered under FIR 678/25. According to SP Jamshaid Division, the criminals used fake FIA uniforms to deceive the victim and carried out the robbery. Police are now working to recover the stolen items and ensure that justice is served.

This case highlights how social media fame can sometimes be misused to facilitate criminal activities, posing new challenges for law enforcement agencies.
