Tragic Incident in Swat: Celebrities Express Grief Over Devastating Flood Tragedy

Lahore: A heartbreaking tragedy struck Swat as 18 members of a family were swept away by a sudden flood while they were enjoying a day out near the riverbank in Mingora Bypass. The victims, from Sialkot and Mardan, were waiting for help for nearly two hours, but unfortunately, no assistance arrived in time.
The incident has left the nation deeply saddened, with questions arising about the lack of response from authorities. Celebrities from the entertainment industry have also expressed their sorrow and outrage over the incident.
Actress Mahira Khan shared her grief, describing the tragic scene of a helpless family waiting for help as the floodwaters carried them away. She questioned the system that allows such disasters to unfold without timely assistance.
Actress Zara Noor Abbas took to Instagram to express her deep sadness over the incident and prayed for the souls of the deceased.
Actress Saboor Aly shared a post on Instagram, expressing her anger at the country’s priorities. She pointed out that helicopters are quick to dry out stadium pitches but fail to save lives in such dire situations.
Actor Nauman Ijaz also expressed his sorrow, stating that while facilities exist, they are only for the privileged. A family was calling for help while the country remains in ruins.
Singer and actress Hadiqa Kiani wrote that she was deeply affected by the tragedy and prayed for the affected families. She emphasized the need for a better system that can manage the impacts of natural disasters like floods.
Actress Hira Mani also shared her anger, highlighting that the river, which once sang songs of peace, now echoed with grief as entire villages were swept away, and the world remained oblivious to the calamity. She called it not just a natural disaster, but a human tragedy that was being ignored.
