Balochistan CM Takes Strict Action Against Teachers’ Absenteeism, Orders Immediate Disciplinary Action

QUETTA:Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has taken stern notice of the ongoing absenteeism and negligence of duties by teachers and other government employees across the province’s educational institutions. He has issued clear directives that any government employee, especially teachers, found guilty of persistent absenteeism or negligence in performing their duties will not be entitled to any salary or benefits from the national exchequer.

The Chief Minister has instructed the relevant authorities in the Education Department to immediately gather details of all employees who are either neglecting their responsibilities or are continuously absent without proper notice. These employees are to be issued show-cause notices within one week, and if they fail to provide a satisfactory explanation, they will be dismissed, with vacant positions being filled by new candidates on a contract basis.

In reference to previous government decisions, the CM emphasized that no employee organization or association in essential services like the Education and Health Departments will be allowed to go on strike or lock out offices. He criticized the unwarranted strikes and lockouts by such associations in the past, which he believes have caused irreparable damage to government operations and hindered progress in the province.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that while the government is making every effort to promote education, any failure on the part of public servants to fulfill their duties will not be tolerated. He urged the concerned officials to carry out field visits to ensure proper attendance and conduct regular performance monitoring.

This bold move by the provincial government aims to enforce discipline and accountability within public sector institutions, particularly in education, which remains a critical area for the development of Balochistan.
