CM Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti Says Terrorists Are Turning Youth into Suicide Bombers, Vows to Provide Education

Jacobabad:Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, condemned the growing wave of terrorism in the province and expressed deep concern over militants radicalizing Balochistan’s youth into becoming suicide bombers. He stated that while terrorists are exploiting young people, the provincial government is opening doors to higher education opportunities, including places at Oxford and Harvard Universities.

In a media interaction following a condolence visit to National Assembly member and PPP Chief Whip Mir Ejaz Hussain Jakhurani, after the passing of his mother, Mir Bugti emphasized that Balochistan is currently engaged in a battle against terrorism. He reiterated, “We are seeking solutions through dialogue, but unfortunately, our counterparts are choosing to speak through the barrel of a gun.”

**Key Highlights:**

* **Fight Against Terrorism:** Mir Bugti highlighted that terrorism in Balochistan is not rooted in any particular tribe or community, but is purely a terrorist agenda. “Terrorists have no nationality or tribe; they are just terrorists,” he added.

* **Commitment to Education and Development:** He further stated that the provincial government is focused on providing youth with opportunities for progress by engaging them in education. “We are opening doors to world-class universities, including Oxford and Harvard, through the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship,” he said, referencing the scholarship program that allows Balochistan’s youth access to international institutions.

* **Terrorism and Radicalization:** In contrast to the province’s educational efforts, Mir Bugti pointed out that terrorists are turning the youth into suicide bombers, emphasizing the stark difference between the two sides’ approaches to the future of Balochistan’s youth.

* **On Missing Persons Issue:** Responding to a question regarding the issue of missing persons in Balochistan, Mir Bugti acknowledged the controversy surrounding the issue. He mentioned that while the exact details and figures remain disputed, the provincial government has taken legislative steps to address the matter within the Balochistan Assembly, aiming to prevent future accusations against state institutions.

* **On Border Security:** Speaking about the security situation at the Balochistan-Iran border, the Chief Minister stated that Iran is a friendly, brotherly Islamic nation. He assured that Pakistan, standing in solidarity with Iran, has developed plans to ensure the security of the border area, including providing food and other essential supplies to deal with any emerging circumstances.

* **Condemnation of the Jaffar Express Attack:** Mir Bugti also condemned the recent attack on the Jaffar Express, which took place in Jacobabad, a border town of Balochistan. “This is the first such incident on the border, and it is our responsibility to ensure the safety and security of the public,” he concluded, emphasizing that the provincial government is working to improve security conditions in the region.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s statements reflect the Balochistan government’s focus on addressing both security concerns and the development of youth through education and empowerment.
