Power Supply to Makran Suspended from Iran, Says QESCO

Pasni:Electricity supply from Iran to the Makran region was suspended on Monday afternoon at 3:00 PM, causing widespread power outages across several areas. According to a spokesperson for Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), the electricity was disrupted from three key 132kV transmission lines—Pishin, Mand, and Polan-Jiwani—that connect Iran to Pakistan’s Makran division.

As a result of this disruption, power supply has been halted to major towns and infrastructure including Mand, Tump, Turbat, Hoshab, Panjgur, Jiwani, Gwadar Deep Sea Port, New Gwadar International Airport, Pasni, and Ormara grid stations.

QESCO stated that efforts are underway to restore electricity by linking the Makran division to the national grid. The spokesperson also confirmed that coordination with Iranian authorities is ongoing to resolve the issue and resume power transmission from Iran as soon as possible.

“Once the electricity from Iran is restored, the situation will return to normal,” the spokesperson added. QESCO has apologized to consumers for the inconvenience and requested public cooperation during the temporary outage.
