DG ISPR: Only the State Can Declare Jihad, No Individual or Group Has the Authority

Rawalpindi: The Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, during a special meeting with representatives from various religious and social circles in Karachi, stated that only the state has the authority to declare jihad. He emphasized that no individual or group holds this power.
According to reports, the meeting was warmly received by the representatives of different religions and social groups, who expressed their full solidarity with the DG ISPR.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif highlighted that all citizens of Pakistan, regardless of their religion, are equal and have constitutional rights, stressing that national unity can only be preserved through equality and harmony.
He also pointed out that India is backing terrorism in Pakistan, and the Pakistani military is responding to these provocations with modern warfare strategies. He condemned racial and linguistic hatred as ignorance, stressing that all Pakistanis are equal, and no force can defeat a united nation.
The representatives from various religious and social communities appreciated the meeting with DG ISPR, thanked him, and expressed their desire for such discussions to continue in the future.
