Sui Companies Seek Gas Price Hike in New Fiscal Year

ISLAMABAD: The two major gas utilities, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company, have submitted separate applications to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) seeking an increase in gas prices for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to details, Sui Southern Gas Company has requested an increase of Rs 5,306 in the average gas price, while Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has sought an adjustment of Rs 29 per MMBTU.
The companies have also projected a combined financial requirement of Rs 1,650 billion, covering the upcoming fiscal year as well as previous revenue shortfalls.
The applications are now under review by OGRA, which will determine whether adjustments in gas tariffs are justified for the new financial year.
If approved, the proposed increases could have a significant impact on energy costs for consumers and industries across the country.
