Bilawal Bhutto Carries His Own Luggage in London, Sparks Online Reactions

London: A video of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and head of the parliamentary diplomatic delegation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has gone viral on social media, showing him disembarking from a train in London while carrying his own luggage.

The video drew a wave of reactions from social media users. One user commented, “In Pakistan, he enjoys royal protocol, but in London, he has to carry his own bags.”

Journalist Azaz Syed praised the act, stating, “It’s commendable that our leaders carry their own luggage abroad and appear to have no visible protocol. Such behavior should also be adopted in Pakistan. Security is essential, but showing off with convoys and special treatment only diminishes one’s stature.”

Senior journalist Umar Cheema took a sarcastic jab, saying, “Abroad, they carry only luggage — in Pakistan, it’s much more than that.”

Another user, Khurram Iqbal, remarked, “Carrying your own luggage is a good practice, but the real concern is that Bilawal’s hair seems to be thinning under the weight. Why is that happening?”
One user noted that Bilawal arrived in Belgium with his delegation without any visible protocol: “No long car convoys, no crowds to receive him — just simplicity.”

The video has stirred debate about the stark contrast between political culture at home and abroad, with many calling for a shift in attitude regarding protocol and public representation by leaders in Pakistan.
