Aliema Khan Accuses Maryam Nawaz’s Police of Harassing Women Protesters

Rawalpindi: PTI founder’s sister Aliema Khan has accused Maryam Nawaz’s police of mistreating women protesters who came to meet Imran Khan. Aliema and others walked under extreme heat to reach the Adiala Jail, but were stopped by the police.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Aliema Khan expressed her frustration, saying, “We walked in the scorching heat to meet Imran Khan, but we are being prevented from doing so. Maryam Nawaz should know that this is her police that is stopping us.”
Aliema Khan also confronted the police officers, questioning their actions, “You are Maryam Nawaz’s police, and you are harassing women. This is the same Maryam Nawaz who incited stone-throwing against the police during a NAB appearance.”
She further added, “Maryam Nawaz may think that by doing this, we will be intimidated, but if the founder of PTI can endure such hardships in prison, we too can sit in the heat. We will not be scared or exhausted. Allah is with us.”
Referring to the heavy police presence, Aliema Khan remarked, “They are scared, which is why they have set up three checkpoints for just three women. We proudly say that so much police force has been deployed for us. If they are afraid of elderly women, just imagine how terrified they are.”
She concluded by emphasizing, “They may temporarily improve the situation here for a day or two, but we will continue to come despite the obstacles. At our age, the heat doesn’t bother us. We have the constitutional right to protest. If we don’t protest against injustice, then what should we do?”
