MrBeast Reveals He’s Borrowing Money from His Mom to Pay for His Wedding Despite Being Worth Billions

Famous YouTuber and entrepreneur MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has revealed that despite his billion-dollar business empire and over 400 million social media followers, he personally has very little money and is relying on his mother to help fund his upcoming wedding.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), MrBeast explained that while his businesses are worth a lot on paper, he reinvests most of his income back into content creation. “Ironically, I’m literally borrowing money from my mom to fund my wedding,” he wrote. “I personally have very little because I reinvest everything.”
Donaldson is engaged to fellow content creator Thea Booysen, whom he met in 2022 during a trip to her home country, South Africa. The couple began dating shortly after and went public with their relationship at the Kids’ Choice Awards that year. They got engaged on Christmas Day in 2024 and have since shared plans for a simple, private ceremony on an island, attended only by close friends and family.
Despite being known for extravagant stunts and giveaways — including awarding \$1 million to the winner of his reality show *Beast Games* — MrBeast says he doesn’t plan on taking much time off for the wedding and wants to keep it low-key.
This surprising revelation has sparked conversations online about wealth, liquidity, and how even billionaires can face cash flow challenges when most of their wealth is tied up in business assets.
