Reko Diq Mining Company Inaugurates Fourth Solar RO Plant in Durbun Chah, Providing 10,000 Gallons of Clean Water Daily

Chaghi: Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art solar-powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant in the village of Durbun Chah, District Chaghi. The new facility is designed to provide the local population with easy access to clean and safe drinking water.
This marks RDMC’s fourth solar RO installation in the region, following previous projects in Hamei, Nok Chah, and Mushki Chah. The Durbun Chah plant is equipped with modern technology and has the capacity to deliver up to 10,000 gallons of clean water per day. The plant reduces salinity levels in water to meet international standards.
The project was proposed and implemented in collaboration with the local Community Development Committee (CDC), reflecting RDMC’s ongoing commitment to working closely with local stakeholders.
The plant was officially inaugurated by RDMC General Manager Ryan Mitchell, accompanied by local dignitaries and CDC representatives. Community members praised the initiative, stating that access to clean drinking water is a vital and much-needed service.
RDMC emphasized that access to clean water is a basic human right and reiterated its dedication to sustainable development. The company’s broader social investment strategy also includes initiatives in education, healthcare, and vocational training to support holistic regional development.
