Nationwide Protests Held Over Inflation, Insecurity and Release of Political Prisoners: Constitutional Movement Continues

QUETTA (Qudrat News) – Following the decisions taken in a meeting chaired by Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief and Chairman of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Maqbool Ahmed Achakzai, nationwide protests were held against rising inflation, increase in petroleum prices, unemployment, insecurity, and the demand for the release of political prisoners.

According to a press release, under the banner of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan, protests were organized across multiple districts including Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Qilla Abdullah, Sibi, Ziarat, Loralai, Harnai, and Zhob.

The main protest and rally in Quetta was presided over by Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal.

The gathering was addressed by Provincial President Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, PTI leader Munawara Baloch, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Allama Maqsood Domki, and PTI Quetta District President Sardar Zain-ul-Abideen Khilji, while Kabir Afghan served as stage secretary.

Speakers said that violations of the Constitution, restrictions on the judiciary and media, and curbs on political protests were deeply concerning. They alleged that the current government had failed to provide relief to the public, offering only inflation, insecurity, and unemployment.

They added that the country’s economy was in crisis, industries were shutting down, and citizens were deprived of basic necessities. The speakers demanded the immediate release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and all other political prisoners, along with proper medical treatment facilities for them.

They further stated that trade restrictions at Chaman and other border points violate international laws, urging the restoration of trade through a proper customs clearance system.

Expressing concern over rising insecurity, kidnapping for ransom, and terrorism, the speakers emphasized that protecting citizens’ lives and property is the fundamental responsibility of the state, which they said is currently being neglected.

They reaffirmed that the movement will continue its struggle for constitutional supremacy, parliamentary sovereignty, democracy, and the release of political prisoners.
