Over Rs. 4.15 Billion Irregularities Uncovered at Bolan Medical Complex, Quetta

Quetta:A special audit has revealed **financial irregularities amounting to Rs. 4.15 billion** at the **Bolan Medical Complex (BMC)** in Quetta, raising serious concerns over transparency and accountability in the healthcare sector.

According to sources, the **audit report covering the years 2017 to 2022** highlights several major discrepancies:

* **Rs. 1.16 billion** in **non-transparent disbursements** under the **stipends for postgraduate doctors**.
* **Rs. 1.93 billion** worth of **medicine purchases without conducting lab tests** or proper validation.
* An additional **Rs. 382.2 million** worth of records were reportedly **not provided** to the audit team at all.

The findings have been **forwarded to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)** for **further investigation**, with expectations of a formal probe into potential misuse of public funds.

Healthcare experts and transparency advocates have called for strict accountability and reforms to ensure such lapses do not compromise the delivery of essential medical services.
