Lashkari Raisani Urges Unity Among Political Thinkers to Address Balochistan’s Collective Issues

QUETTA:Veteran politician and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani has called on the people of Balochistan—especially genuine political workers, students, intellectuals, poets, lawyers, writers, and creative minds—to unite in peaceful political resistance and raise their voices on the province’s collective national issues.

Speaking during a thought-provoking session at Sarawan House with like-minded political workers from various parts of District Kachhi, Raisani said that the political landscape of Balochistan has been monopolized by an alliance between the establishment and political parties, leaving no room for a true opposition. He claimed that current political actors are preoccupied with personal and group interests, ignoring the larger provincial concerns.

“In such times, it becomes the responsibility of sincere political workers and intellectuals to guide the people and highlight the core issues. If we fail to speak up now, the exploitation of Balochistan’s resources, the violation of human rights, and the neglect of collective concerns will only worsen,” Raisani warned.

He criticized the prevailing political structure, stating that those in power spend five years securing privileges, only to be replaced by another handpicked face to continue the cycle. “Nations count every second of their time. If we do not value time now, we as a nation will sink deeper into crises,” he added.

Highlighting the degradation of democratic values, Raisani alleged that where once government jobs and contracts were sold, now even assembly seats are being traded as a result of political bargaining.

He emphasized that he and his companions have consistently raised awareness about Balochistan’s collective national issues for decades, aiming to awaken the people and build a sense of political consciousness around matters that impact the entire province.
