Solar Panel-Laden Container Goes Missing En Route from Karachi to Okara; Found Empty in Shikarpur

Karachi/Shikarpur:A container carrying **720 solar panels** worth over **Rs. 15 million** mysteriously went missing on its way from **Karachi to Okara**, only to be found **empty and abandoned** two days later near **Shikarpur Toll Plaza**.
According to the trader who shipped the consignment on **Friday**, the container was loaded in Karachi with valuable **solar plates** destined for Okara. However, on **Saturday night**, all communication with the drivers ceased as their **mobile phones were switched off**.
By **Monday**, the container was located near the **Shikarpur Toll Plaza**, but it was **completely empty**, and the drivers had **disappeared** without a trace.
The trader informed the **local police**, but no **FIR** was registered. Authorities claimed that since the **drivers’ phones were last active in Gambat**, a town in **Khairpur District**, the **actual crime scene** falls under that jurisdiction.
Speaking on the matter, the **SHO of Shikarpur’s Fojdari Police Station** stated,
*”The last mobile signal was traced to Gambat, Khairpur. Therefore, the FIR should be filed in that jurisdiction as the theft likely occurred there.”*
The incident has raised serious concerns about **inter-district coordination** and the **lack of immediate action** by law enforcement. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the missing drivers and the stolen solar panels remain unknown. An investigation is awaited.
