Major Oil Reserve Discovered in Sindh’s Tando Allahyar District

Karachi: A significant oil reserve has been discovered in Sindh’s Tando Allahyar district, with an estimated daily output of 275 barrels of crude oil. The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced this breakthrough and has officially informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange through a formal letter.
According to OGDCL, the discovery was made at a well named “Chakar-1,” where drilling began on June 2. Oil was found at a depth of 1,926 meters. OGDCL holds a 95% share in the well, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 5%.
This marks the 13th hydrocarbon discovery in the Lower Ranikot formation. OGDCL hailed the find as a positive development for the oil and gas sector in the country.
