Pakistan Expels Indian Diplomat, Orders Departure Within 24 Hours

Islamabad:Pakistan has declared an Indian High Commission official as “persona non grata” and has ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours. This move comes in retaliation to India’s recent decision to expel a Pakistani High Commission official, instructing them to leave the country.
According to a statement by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the Indian diplomat was found involved in activities that were deemed contrary to his diplomatic status. The statement further revealed that the Indian official has been given 24 hours to depart Pakistan.
The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was formally notified of the decision.
This diplomatic escalation follows last week’s similar action by India, when it declared a Pakistani High Commission official “persona non grata” and demanded their departure. In response, Pakistan had summoned the Indian Charge d’Affaires and issued a formal demarche.
The tit-for-tat expulsions are part of the ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two neighboring countries.
