Islamabad:Tremors from a moderate earthquake were felt in various parts of Pakistan, including the federal capital Islamabad and several cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a **magnitude of 5.3** on the Richter scale. Its **epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan**, and the **depth was recorded at 230 kilometers** beneath the surface.
Residents in **Islamabad and Attock** reported feeling the tremors, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the earthquake was felt in **Mardan, Swat, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Swabi**, along with surrounding areas.
Tremors were also reported from **North Waziristan**, though no immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain calm and take necessary safety precautions in the event of aftershocks.
