DSP and Six Others Killed in Attack on Police Vehicle in Kohat

Kohat: A deadly attack on a police vehicle in the outskirts of Kohat has left seven people dead, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), six security personnel, and one civilian.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO), the incident occurred on Tuesday on Shakardara Road, where unidentified terrorists opened fire on the police mobile, injuring several officers.

The DPO later confirmed that DSP Wahid Mahmood and three other officers were initially martyred in the attack, while four more officers were injured and taken to a nearby hospital. During treatment, two additional officers succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total number of police casualties to six, including the DSP.

Medical officials stated that a total of seven people were killed in the attack, including one passerby, while three police officers and an injured civilian remain hospitalized at the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police officials said the attackers set the vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene. A large police force has been deployed to the area to track down the assailants.
