Pakistan Launches ‘Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs’ Against India; PM Convenes National Command Authority Meeting

Islamabad:In a significant escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the National Command Authority (NCA) following the initiation of a major retaliatory military operation named *Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs* (Iron Wall).
According to security sources, Pakistan has launched a counter-offensive targeting multiple strategic locations within India. The operation reportedly began at dawn with the firing of the *Fatah-1* missile, striking key Indian military installations. Confirmed targets include the Udhampur and Pathankot airbases, as well as a BrahMos missile storage facility, all reportedly destroyed in the attack.
Sources indicate that 12 high-value targets were struck as part of the ongoing operation. The nature and scale of the response reflect a significant military escalation following recent hostilities.
Prime Minister Sharif’s decision to summon the NCA – the body responsible for overseeing Pakistan’s nuclear policy and strategic command – underscores the gravity of the current situation.
This marks one of the most serious developments in recent years between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. International observers are closely monitoring the situation amid fears of further escalation.
