U.S. Urges Pakistan and India to Reopen Direct Communication Channels

Washington :The United States has called on Pakistan and India to reopen direct communication channels in an effort to reduce rising tensions between the two South Asian neighbors. According to a statement by the spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, Bryan Hughes, the U.S. is encouraging both countries to engage in dialogue to prevent further escalation.
“We are aware of the current situation between Pakistan and India,” Hughes said, adding that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has spoken with his counterparts in both countries.
The U.S. official emphasized that direct communication between the leadership of India and Pakistan is crucial. “We are encouraging both nations to reopen their communication channels. Dialogue is the key to preventing further tensions,” Hughes added.
The call comes amid growing concerns over recent hostilities, with Washington stressing the importance of diplomacy and engagement to maintain peace in the region.
