Nadia Khan Criticizes Sajal Aly’s Performance in Zanjeerein, Questions Dialogue Delivery

ISLAMABAD: Television host and actor Nadia Khan has criticized Sajal Aly’s performance in the popular drama serial Zanjeerein, questioning the realism of her dialogue delivery in a recent episode.
Speaking on the entertainment review show Kya Drama Hai, Nadia Khan said a scene in which Sajal Aly’s character, Rabia, was fleeing from danger lacked emotional intensity.
Commenting on the sequence, Nadia said, “Rabia was running away but calmly saying, ‘Is anyone there?’ If someone is truly chasing you and your life is in danger, would you ask for help so quietly? In such a situation, a person would scream for help with all their strength.”
She added that the character’s body language, voice, and acting did not appear to match the urgency of the scene. Nadia also questioned how another character, Daniyal, was able to hear such a softly spoken call for help, describing the scene as unrealistic.
Although Zanjeerein received a modest response when it first premiered, the drama has gradually gained popularity and has become a frequent topic of discussion on entertainment review programs.
Nadia Khan also humorously imitated Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery during the show, sparking a fresh debate on social media.
The criticism divided viewers, with some agreeing that the scene lacked realism, while many fans defended Sajal Aly, arguing that she remains one of Pakistan’s finest actors and that judging her overall performance based on a single scene is unfair.
