J-10C Induction Balanced Air Superiority After India’s Rafale Edge, Says Former Fighter Pilot

ISLAMABAD:Former Pakistan Air Force fighter pilot **Khalid Chishti** has acknowledged that India had gained a clear air superiority edge after acquiring the **Rafale** fighter jets, citing their advanced capabilities compared to Pakistan’s existing fleet, particularly the F-16s.
“As a fighter pilot, I can say Rafale is an exceptional aircraft. The missiles it carries were far superior to what the F-16s had. India had definitely gained an advantage over us,” Chishti stated in a recent interview.
However, he noted that the situation changed significantly with the induction of **J-10C fighter jets** into the Pakistan Air Force in **March 2022**. “Pakistan became the only country in the world to receive these jets from China. The J-10C helped restore balance in the region’s aerial capabilities,” he added.
The J-10C, a 4.5-generation multirole fighter, is equipped with advanced avionics, radar systems, and long-range missiles, making it a critical addition to Pakistan’s defense arsenal.
