Good News for Heat-Stricken Residents: Rain System to Return in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan

Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has announced welcome news for the heat-weary residents of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan. A new rain-bearing weather system is expected to enter the country in two days, bringing much-needed relief in the form of rain and gusty winds.
Currently, most parts of Punjab are experiencing dry conditions with no immediate chance of rainfall over the next one to two days. However, dusty winds are expected in Lahore and other cities, which may help reduce temperatures slightly and bring a sense of coolness. The temperature in Lahore is expected to range between a minimum of 24°C and a maximum of 34°C.
According to weather experts, the upcoming rain system will enter Pakistan from the west, making weather conditions more pleasant across the province. The system is expected to bring rainfall across several parts of Punjab.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather will remain partly cloudy in most districts. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecasted in areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Mansehra, and Battagram. In Peshawar, the temperature has reached 36°C, while Dera Ismail Khan recorded 32°C and Bannu 35°C. Other recorded temperatures include Chitral at 31°C, Upper Dir at 29°C, Kalam at 24°C, and Malam Jabba at 20°C.
Meanwhile, most areas in Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry. However, rainfall with thunder and strong winds is possible in Khuzdar, Lasbela, and surrounding regions. Quetta recorded a high of 33°C, while Kalat reached 27°C. Ziarat was cooler at 21°C, whereas Zhob recorded 36°C, Sibi 41°C, and Turbat a scorching 43°C.
