AI Radio Host Fooled Listeners for Six Months Before Being Exposed

Sydney-based Australian radio network CADA has revealed that one of its popular on-air hosts, known as “Thy,” was not a real person but an AI-generated voice. The artificial host, featured on the show *Workdays with Thy*, had been presenting music for four hours every weekday for over six months, charming listeners with her soothing voice.
The station initially kept details about Thy vague, providing no full name or personal background. This led many curious fans to search online for more information, only to come up empty-handed.
Suspicion began to arise among a few attentive listeners who noticed that Thy repeated certain phrases with identical tone and delivery every time — a telltale sign of automation. While many continued to believe she was a real human host, these inconsistencies led some to question her authenticity.
After growing speculation and public questioning, CADA eventually admitted that Thy was indeed an AI-generated host. The station did not initially disclose the experiment but confirmed it once the secret was out.
The revelation has sparked debate over the use of artificial intelligence in media and entertainment, raising ethical questions about transparency and the future role of human presenters in the industry.
