Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Calls for Political Stability and Constitutional Adherence to Resolve Balochistan’s Issues

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has emphasized that political instability and lack of adherence to the constitution are the root causes of the ongoing challenges faced by Balochistan. Speaking on the current situation in the province, Abbasi pointed out that when he was in office, even the Balochistan government seemed to disappear, further deepening the crisis.
Abbasi argued that the primary issue is the failure to respect and implement the Constitution, which has led to a lack of governance and political fragmentation. He said, “Until we end political chaos, we cannot move forward. The situation cannot continue in this way.”
He further stressed that Balochistan has the potential to become Pakistan’s wealthiest province, owing to its vast natural resources, but this potential remains untapped due to the political instability and lack of proper governance. “Balochistan should be Pakistan’s richest province, but we must first ensure political unity and constitutional integrity,” said Abbasi.
Abbasi’s comments reflect growing concerns about Balochistan’s governance and its integration into the national framework, calling for a more stable and constitutionally sound approach to address the province’s challenges.
What do you think is the best way forward for resolving Balochistan’s long-standing issues?
