PTI Punjab Leaders Seek Postponement of Long March

ISLAMABAD:** PTI Punjab leaders, including the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, have asked the party leadership to postpone the planned long march, citing inadequate preparations.
A meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was held at KP House in Islamabad on Thursday, attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Salman Akram Raja.
According to sources, the meeting was convened specifically at the request of PTI members from Punjab. Participants were consulted about the planned long march, during which the Punjab opposition leader and other members called for its postponement.
The PTI members reportedly said preparations for the long march were insufficient.
Punjab-based party leaders also complained that they had not been consulted before the announcement of the long march. They said Punjab members were not given an opportunity to present their views during a meeting held in Peshawar either.
Speaking to the media, PTI Punjab spokesperson Dr Ali Imran said parliamentarians had informed the leadership that they had not been consulted.
He said Punjab ticket-holders had been invited to discuss the plan and move forward with preparations for the September 27 programme.
