Omar Ayub Calls Shehbaz Sharif a Cowardly Prime Minister
Opposition Leader Criticizes Government's Response to India and Claims of Weakness

Rawalpindi: Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan has labeled Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as a “cowardly” leader, criticizing his stance on national security issues and the government’s handling of the situation with India.
In a media briefing outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, Ayub accused Shehbaz Sharif of advocating for an investigation into the Pahalgam incident, calling it equivalent to “surrendering.” He argued that Pakistan should send a clear message to India, saying, “If India attacks, we will retaliate both on the ground and in the air.” He added, “But the puppet government is trembling with fear.”
Ayub further criticized Shehbaz Sharif for his failure to take a firm stance, stating that while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls for military aggression, the Pakistani government is talking about surrender instead of responding to threats. “Pakistan is a responsible nuclear power,” he emphasized.
The opposition leader also claimed that Shehbaz Sharif had sold ammunition to Ukraine at the request of the United States, while former President Asif Ali Zardari had “sold Sindh’s water.” He stated that the situation in Balochistan was worsening, with growing unrest in the country and a lack of foreign exchange reserves. “There are over 500 billion rupees worth of Iranian oil being smuggled,” he said.
Ayub also addressed personal legal matters, revealing that he had secured bail in 25 cases in a single day. “What national unity are they talking about when cases are being filed against me?” he questioned.
He further stated that he had been prevented from meeting the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and that petitions related to the matter were still under consideration in the courts. He mentioned that documents had been provided for the indictment of 11 cases against him.
Regarding other political matters, Ayub noted that the hearing of the Toshakhana case had been postponed, and that the FIR for the Wazirabad shooting case had not been registered despite Imran Khan’s request. He also pointed out that decisions on cases, such as the Wazirabad case, were being made without proper legal proceedings.
In conclusion, Ayub called for the Pakistan Army to stand with the people, describing the Jaffer Express incident as an “intelligence failure.”
